How It Started
Builders Capital was formed in 2009 initially as a funding partner to a single high-volume home builder. As Builders Capital grew it began to fill a crucial gap in the lending industry: providing developers with fast, reliable capital that banks and traditional lenders couldn’t match. By focusing on the unique needs of development projects, Builders Capital quickly established itself as a trusted partner for those building the future of housing.

Builders Capital is proud to have one of the region’s most successful builders on our Founders Team. Mr. Trent was recognized in 2010 by the Puget Sound Business Journal for creating one of the “100 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Washington State.” Mr. Trent, a highly successful entrepreneur, founded SDC Homes at the onset of the “credit crisis” in 2007. Through innovation, experience and sheer determination, Mr. Trent developed a business model that took SDC Homes to one of the top three homebuilders in Washington State by 2010. Resulting from innovation, SDC Homes was extremely profitable, garnering the interest of several national homebuilders. In the spring of 2011, Mr. Trent accepted a bid for his company from a U.S. “Top 10” builder. Mr. Trent has returned to the world of private investment and currently plays a strategic role with Builders Capital.

As the company’s Founder, Curt Altig brings a deep passion for the home building industry to everything he touches at Builders Capital. His two decades as an executive with respected major mortgage bankers prepared him well for the launch of Builders Capital in 2009.
Mr. Altig has assembled and inspired a world class leadership team devoted to helping our home builder clients succeed at every level. His current leadership goals are the deliberate and successful launches in new markets, as well as creating new products and services that can reduce risks and increase profitability of clients in all sectors of home building.
Mr. Altig is a current board member of Liberty Road Foundation and a graduate of the University of Washington.

As a founder and investor in Builders Capital from day one, Mr. Hadley helps cast the vision for the continued growth and success of the company. He serves on the company’s Management and Loan Committees. Mr. Hadley is also the President of Hadley Properties, LLC, a third-generation development company with a long history of technical and real estate innovation, spanning residential, resort, office, hospitality, and industrial product types. Mr. Hadley holds degrees in civil engineering and quantitative economics from Stanford University.

Mark Woodbridge boasts a distinguished 28-year career in mortgage banking and private capital lending. As Chief Sales Officer at Builders Capital, Mark leads strategic initiatives focused on growth and innovation, leveraging his extensive experience and network.
Previously, Mark held roles as VP of Strategic Accounts, Director of Wholesale Lending, and National Sales Director. In these roles, Mark established and expanded critical lending partnerships nationwide, scaled operations effectively fueling team and volume growth, and notably helped propel Builders Capital from a regional entity to become the nation's largest private construction lender.
His multifaceted background includes managing private equity funds, overseeing a mortgage branch for a leading west coast institution, and owning his own successful mortgage brokerage. Mark's hands-on involvement in real estate development – from raw land to new construction – underscores his comprehensive understanding of the industry. Clients benefit from his nuanced insights and innovative financing strategies, tailored to their unique needs. Outside of work, Mark cherishes family time, often exploring the outdoors with his wife and four sons.
