FAQs
What is BIMQuote, and how do I place material orders?
BIMQuote is a cutting-edge Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform that transforms 2D building plans into precise 3D models. These models generate accurate quantity takeoffs, which can be used to create quotes and purchase orders with material providers. To place an order, simply log into the portal, upload your plans, and wait for quotes generated from the takeoffs. Once you're ready, you can approve a quote and create a purchase order directly in the platform.
When will material order credits be applied to my loan?
Credits earned through eligible material orders will be applied to the origination fee portion of your loan as materials are purchased and paid for.
Can I still earn credits if I have an existing supplier contract?
Absolutely! You can choose to order only specific material categories through BIMQuote if you have existing supplier agreements. Credits are earned on all eligible materials ordered and fulfilled through the platform.
What if BIMQuote’s pricing is higher than quotes I’ve received elsewhere?
BIMQuote typically offers significant savings through national pricing agreements. If your regional supplier provides a lower “apples-to-apples” quote, we’ll work with our providers to match or beat that price. Beyond competitive pricing, BIMQuote streamlines reimbursements, simplifies the draw process, and provides project coordinators to ensure timely delivery.
Do I need build plans to use BIMQuote?
Yes, detailed build plans are necessary to create a 3D model and generate accurate takeoffs. If you don’t have plans yet, you can purchase them through Customhome.ai, and those plans may be eligible for reimbursement or credits toward your origination fee when materials are ordered through BIMQuote.
How is the rebate calculated?
Rebates are based on the total value of materials ordered and delivered through the platform. While initial estimates are provided at the time of order submission, final rebate amounts are confirmed once the purchase order is placed.
What happens if I decide not to order materials through BIMQuote?
No problem! You’re not obligated to purchase any items included in your initial rebate estimate. Your rebate will be based solely on materials actually ordered and delivered.
How can you offer such significant material discounts?
Builders Capital leverages bulk purchasing power and streamlined order processes through national partnerships. These efficiencies allow us to secure preferred pricing while adding value for suppliers, manufacturers, and borrowers alike.
Can I use BIMQuote for only part of my project?
Yes! You can use BIMQuote to order materials for select portions of your project or test the platform with a smaller purchase. Rebates will be applied based on the actual items ordered and delivered.
Is the origination fee rebate available for condos and multifamily projects?
Yes, the rebate is available for a variety of project types, including single-family homes, condos, and multifamily developments.
How quickly will I receive material bids?
Material bids are typically returned within five business days of your loan closing. Some categories may require additional time, but an option is available to generate 3D models and collect bids before closing for a nominal fee. Note that material pricing may fluctuate based on supplier programs.
